Who says you have to travel far to have an adventure? Parramatta, a metropolitan suburb of Sydney, may seem like your average, unassuming city on the surface. But you could find yourself pleasantly surprised with an adventure, if you look in the right places. With a little help from PARKROYAL Picks, your personal travel insider, we’ve curated a list to point you towards the direction where the fun begins.

1.  Learn To Fly

IFLY Parramatta

Of the many adventures that await in Parramatta, this might be the most thrilling. Simulate the “bucket list” type experience of skydiving at iFly without the worries of malfunctioning parachutes or possibly plummeting to your death. Located 30 minutes away from PARKROYAL Parramatta, this indoor activity, which is suitable for all age groups, also caters to those with a fear of heights.

No, we didn’t invent an actual time machine overnight. But stepping into Elizabeth Farm, the oldest house in the country, sure feels like you’ve made a journey two centuries backwards. One of Parramatta’s coolest colonial landmarks whose dark history is a source of much intrigue, the quaint bungalow was the home of a military couple. Now, it lives as a museum, and is just a brisk, five-minute drive away from PARKROYAL Parramatta.
